BLOOD DONATION AWARENESS PROGRAMME AND BLOOD DONATION CAMP (25-02-2020 & 27-02-2020)

“TEARS OF A MOTHER CANNOT SAVE HER CHILD BUT YOUR BLOOD CAN”

This quote highlights the importance of blood donation. To encourage the students in donating their blood first their fear and doubts regarding blood donation has to be cleared. So, an awareness program was organized on dt.25-02-2020 & Dr. Ravindran, Government Hospital, Salem addressed the students and clarified all the fears and doubts of students in donating blood. In continuance on the awareness program, Blood Donation camp was organized on dt. 27-02-2020 and among 70 students who were found eligible more than 50 students along with faculties and non teaching staff voluntarily came forward and donated their blood. The Blood donation camp was presided by Dr. S. Durga Lakshmi, Principal (i/c), Government Law College, Salem and organized by Thiru. M.Pranov Vishnu Arjun, Assistant Professor/ YRC Co-Ordinator.  Certificate of appreciation was given by Govt Hospital Salem to the Donars and Organiser.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to public health, food systems and the world of work. The economic and social disruption caused by the pandemic is devastating.

Youth Red Cross of Government Law College, Salem in accordance with the meeting conducted on   dt.21-04-2021 regarding conduct of awareness program on prevailing Covid situation has conducted plethora of activities on dt.30-04-2021 in creating awareness within the public about the drastic effects of Covid and also the effective steps which need to be taken by the public to prevent Covid.

  • 30-04-2021:

“Ultimately, the greatest lesson that COVID-19 can teach humanity is that we are all in this together”.

True to this quote, Covid awareness program was organised by Dr.S.Durga Lakshmi, Principal (i/c) of Government Law College, Salem on dt.30-04-2021.

“The Mask you wear protects others and the masks others wears protects you”

This quote highlights the importance of wearing masks. So, in order to create an awareness among the public to wear mask which is the need of the hour not only for their safety but also for the safety of others an awareness rally was conducted in and around the village areas of College and the students provided free masks to the public and stressed the importance of wearing masks.

‘‘Words spoken will influence the people to an extent whereas Pamphlets with pictures will have a long-lasting effect”

True to this quote during the Corona awareness rally, the students gave pamphlets with pictures to the public and to the shop keepers highlighting the Do’s and Don’ts during this covid pandemic and stressed the need to stay indoors unless there is a need to go out.

“A good immune response is key in defeating COVID-19 and Vaccination is key for good immune system”

This quote highlights the importance of having vaccinated. Vaccination is a key to overcome the pandemic. So, the Students stressed the public regarding the need of getting vaccinated to at the earliest and also cleared the doubts of various people regarding the rumours around the adverse effect of getting vaccinated.

In addition to the above awareness on getting vaccinated the Students also provided ‘Kabasura Drink’ to the public to boost their immune system.

This quote highlights the importance of maintaining social distancing to defeat the corona virus. The students highlighted the importance of maintaining social distancing by conducting the rally social distancing themselves and also created awareness among the public regarding the need to maintain social distancing.

All the programme arrangement was successfully co-ordinated by Thiru. N.Meenakshisundaram Assistant Professor/YRC Co-ordinator, Government Law College, Salem and was duly supported by all the faculty team and by the students and office staff of Government Law College, Salem.
